As of 1st April 2019, GABAPENTIN and PREGABALIN are being classified as Class 3 CONTROLLED DRUGS. You will need to bring photo ID with you to collect your Gabapentin and Pregabalin prescription from the Practice or Pharmacy. If you would like a representative to collect on your behalf, you will need to give your written permission (signed and dated) and we will need photo ID from them.
Patients on long-term medication can order repeat prescriptions by handing in the tear-off slip attached to their last prescription to the surgery reception or nominated chemist. On-site Pharmacy can help you regarding your repeat prescriptions and they can offer a home delivery service if required.
ON-LINE PRESCRIPTIONS can be requested by e-mailing the in-house Pharmacy - email@example.com, where your repeat slip can be 'ticked, scanned and attached'. It would be taken as your consent for repeat medication and medicines can be collected at the pharmacy within 48 hours of this request.
Please note we do not accept requests over the telephone
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
IT IS THE PATIENT'S RESPONSIBILTY TO ENSURE THE CORRECT MEDICATION IS ON THEIR PRESCRIPTION.
